Darlene Marie B. Berberabe was elected as an Independent Director of the Board of Directors of SM Prime in April 2021. She is a lawyer, management consultant, and currently holds directorates in Palm Concepcion Power Corporation, PA Alvarez and Katapult Digital Corp. She is also a senior lecturer at the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Law. She is also elected to the Board of Trustees of The Outstanding Women in Nation Service, Philippine Heart Association and UP Law Alumni Foundation. She was an associate lawyer in Quisumbing Torres Law Firm with specialization on labor law. Post law firm, she joined Procter & Gamble Philippines where she was a Senior Counsel and member of the Leadership Team. In 2010, she was appointed by the President of the Republic of the Philippines as the CEO of Pag-IBIG Fund. She was a recipient of a number of awards including Outstanding CEO in Asia by the ADFIAP, Outstanding CEO in the public sector by Asia CEO, one of the The Outstanding Women in Nation Service in 2013, and one of the 100 Most Influential Filipino Women in 2014. She graduated with a degree in Philosophy from UP, summa cum laude and class valedictorian of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy in 1989. She was the first female Philosophy instructor in the same school where she taught for 10 years, and has a Masters in Philosophy. She was a working student and graduated salutatorian of her class in UP Law in 1999.
